Rent a Car deposit? Budget rental
Oct 1, 2014, 2:32 PM
Hi I'm trying to budget my vacation and I'm trying to get an answer for a rental car deposit. I've been searching online and some sources for a Budget prepaid car rental deposit with a debit card, and some sources vary, most saying $100-$200 deposit, and some saying up to $500!
I called the actual Budget service desk in HNL and the lady who...

Credit Card cash advances in Casinos?
Feb 5, 2007, 6:33 PM
I'm not exactly a seasoned gambler-but I have done a little on a few cruises. On the cruiselines I know that you can get cash advances on your credit cards at the casino-is the same true for Las Vegas? If so does that include American Express?
Now before I get lectured-I know its a bad habit to get into, but due to unforseen circumstances...

proving CDW/LDW coverage for rental car with Amex

I've been looking at the often confusing information on insurance on various car rental agencies' websites. I understand that SLI/PLI (they are the same, right?) are mandatory even with an Amex card. No problem there. What is confusing to me is that many of these sites say that CDW/LDW is not mandatory if I bring proof...

credit card usage in New Zealand?
Sep 27, 2011, 7:19 PM
Hi - we are traveling to New Zealand in November, 2011, and are wondering what the latest is on credit card usage in New Zealand. We come from the USA and do not have chipped cards. Can we still use our cards with only a magnetic strip and signing?
Also - what cards are commonly accepted? Mastercard and Visa, I assume. How about American...
"Reservation must be guaranteed by a credit card" - New ...
If this is for a cancellable reservation for a hotel room then they want to make sure the credit card you are using to reserve the room is current and will have enough funds to cover the cost.
They might do a $1.00 charge to the card (you won't see this on your card) to make sure the card is valid.
Most "cancellable" reservations aren't charged to the card until you check out. Others will charge...
Alamo credit card hold - Orlando Forum - TripAdvisor
If they take a deposit or hold at all....It is not charged but rather "authorized"
That amount of money will not be available as it will be on "hold" for Alamo should they need to charge you for something.
It will not appear on billing but will, of course, reduce your available credit.

We have reserved a car with Mapache. When we first inquired with Mapache we were given a quote with a 14% discount on weekly rental if we paid the CDW. We said that we did not need the CDW as we had it covered by our visa card and sent confirmation from the CIBC visa insurance company RS&A. Although we now have a reservation we have...

"Broken" credit card machine; Inconsistent portions
My boyfriend loves this place but I am not sure why. Aside from some of their plates being really cute and it not being very busy so you get the place almost to yourself, the food was just okay, the portions were terrible and their credit card machine "works sometimes and sometimes doesn't".
My friends and I came here last night for dinner and ordered 5 dishes:
' Veggies that I didn't eat.
' Jellyfish: my friends said there wasn't much taste but I thought it was okay. I liked how soft it was and not too chewy.
' Mayo Shrimp aka Honey Walnut Shrimp: this was okay except for the bottom being very...
