Bank account customers get rewards
Leading banks are focussing on existing customers, as the Halifax and Royal Bank of Scotland offer new deals to their current account customers.
Anyone with a Halifax Ultimate Reward account or who put at least £1,000 in their account every month will be eligible for rewards which could make them £350 better off in the first year.
The bank says customers can get better deals on savings, will benefit from reduced mortgage rates and get a more competitive deal on their credit cards.

Credit card market returns
The UK's credit card market is "open for business" once more as providers are actively pursuing new customers with a range of competitive deals.
Analysis from Moneyfacts.co.uk shows that over the course of the past year, the number of cards offering zero interest on new purchases for a period of at least ten months has risen by 450 per cent.
Meanwhile, there has been a 20 per cent increase in the availability of zero per cent balance transfer deals lasting ten months or more.
